The Objective
A cloud computing and web hosting guide site, rebuilt from the ground up and driven by real keyword research rather than generic content.
HostSage started as a Next.js magazine template with hardcoded fictional authors, placeholder branding, and demo content. The goal was to rebuild it into an authentic, authoritative single-author publication: consolidating the multi-author content system down to one author profile with proper metadata, redesigning the header/footer/favicon branding from scratch in Figma, restructuring the homepage hero and navigation, and hiding unfinished features (like a podcast section) without deleting underlying code so they remain ready for future releases.

- Complete Brand Identity: Rebuilt the entire branding identity (logo, favicon, wordmark) from scratch in Figma.

Architecture & Execution
Single-Author Architecture & Template Refactoring
Extracted hardcoded template dependencies and consolidated multi-author collections into a unified author data pipeline. Cleaned up frontmatter validation, OpenGraph generation, and dynamic routing to guarantee that every published piece carries structured author metadata and canonical tags.
SEO-First Keyword Intelligence
Identified keywords with verifiable search volume and manageable keyword difficulty (KD). Specifically targeted queries where existing top-ranking search results are thin, generic, or geographically templated. Engineered content outlines to address real technical questions directly, filling demonstrable gaps rather than battling saturated legacy domains.
Visual Identity & Modular Feature Toggle
Replaced boilerplate assets with custom vector typography, cohesive dark mode color schemes, and sharp favicon sets. Encapsulated work-in-progress components (such as an audio/podcast pipeline) behind clean feature toggles without modifying core schema or dropping functional code, preventing future rework.
Status & Impact
HostSage provides an agile, high-performance publishing foundation capable of scaling to hundreds of technical guides with sub-second page loads. By combining MDX content-as-code workflows with rigorous search intent validation, the platform is positioned to capture compounding organic search traffic from day one.
